Calvert - Income Investing - Corporate Bond Funds

Companies of all kinds issue bonds (called corporate bonds since they're offered by corporations) to raise cash for a variety of reasons. A company may want to expand, for example, or to invest significantly in a physical plant.

Ratings firms like Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's assign "grades" to bonds based on the issuer's perceived ability to pay interest on time and to repay the principal at the bond's maturity. Bonds of higher-rated companies are generally considered "investment grade."

Uncovering Exceptional Corporate Bond Investments with the FourSightTM Management Approach

All five of Calvert's corporate bond funds are characterized as "moderately conservative" in their risk level and typically direct well over half of their assets to investment-grade bonds. They all use Calvert's own FourSight management strategy, which simultaneously manages duration, monitors the yield curve, optimizes sector allocation, and analyzes credit.  We believe that FourSight's four-tiered approach enables us to navigate constantly changing market and interest rate conditions in order to ultimately identify the most attractive corporate bond opportunities.
